The college is recognized by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi under section 2(f) in 1969 and 12(B) of U.G.C. Act 1956 from 17 Dec. 1969. The College Registration number of UGC is 96126. College has conferred the Autonomous status on the recommendations of Government of Maharashtra and University Grant Commission from the session 2007-2008 to 2011-2012 for the duration of five years and the parent university given extension upto 2017.UGC New Delhi has awarded the college with status as college with potential for excellance on 18 March 2010
The college is permanently recognized by National Council for Teachers Education W.R.C. Bhopal vide letter number WRC/7-4/97/5335 dated 9/10/1998. The college has also got reorganization for the session 2006-07 vide their letter number WRC/2-32/85-86/2006/C-2414 dated 23/08/2006. The college code number NCTE is 114016
